| Hello Everyone, I received a recommendation letter from a german company where I had an internship. Reading around I got to know of the "special" coding of reference letters in Germany, and mine looks like directly translated based on some of the typical phrases. Could you please help me evaluating the following one? The letter goes like this after presenting tasks performed and time of employment: "We found Mr. XXX to be a careful and reliable Intern who familiarized himself with the fields of activity assigned to him with great success. He identified with the assignments and showed great industry and stamina. Mr. XXX showed himself to be very interested and always assumed his responsibilities unhesitatingly. He demonstrated a great deal of commitment and independent initiative. Thanks to his quick powers of comprehension he was able to appropriate the various methods and content well and to utilize them in his daily work quickly. His interdisciplinary education enabled him to quickly understand technical matters and also to consider their economic and strategic implications. Mr. XXX completed all his assignments professionally and successfully even under difficult conditions. The work he delivered was of good quality and on time. We found Mr. XXX to be a reliable employee who always completed the assignments given him to our full satisfaction. Mr. XXX integrated himself quickly into our team of consultants. With his likeable personality and good communication skills he was able to fill his role from the beginning, and we accepted him as a full-fledged team member. His behavior toward clients, superiors, and colleagues was always faultless. He was always valued by clients, superiors, and colleagues for his friendliness and readiness to help. Mr. XXX is leaving us after the completion of the internship period agreed upon in order to complete his studies at the XXX. We thank Mr. XXX for his good work with us and wish him all the best and continued success in his personal and professional future." All the comments are welcome, also in German no problem at all. Thank you very much in advance for your help, Ezzus |

| kind of job did you got this report.Taken all in all it´s a very good report for your work. It only seems to be too good for me. You really can go to your next employer without being afraid of refusing your person. The report shows, that you have no difficulties in adapting and that you are willing to work. There are no "secret sentences" - don´t think this. Congratulations for this "Zeugnis" and all the best wishes greetings wellen

... ... Wellen? Zitat:

| Thank you for the quick answers! The internship was as consultant in a in-house strategic consulting firm (in Germany of course). Well, ok so all good you say... I was just a bit worried about interpretation of sentences like (they are exactly translated as presented in the various HR german guides for Zeugnis-writing): -His behavior toward clients, superiors, and colleagues was always faultless. or -We found Mr. XXX to be a reliable employee who always completed the assignments given him to our full satisfaction. Danke schön noch mal Riccardo |
